CIM | Dean has 17+ years of IT experience and spent the last 14+ years with Exelon. Currently Dean is the IT Manager implementing system and communication technologies for ComEd’s Smart Grid Initiatives on the grid side. During his time, Dean has implemented and been a part of the maintenance and integration of systems such as, an Interruption Reporting System, Geographic Information System (GIS), Mobile Dispatch System, and Outage Management System.

Kay N. Clinard, PE, is President of UCA International Users Group. UCA International is a non-profit users group comprised of organizations involved in the electric utility industry that share a common goal of Advancing Interoperability for the Utility Enterprise. Kay is also President of KCAssociates, an engineering consulting firm serving electric utilities. Kay has been an advisor for DistribuTECH since it's beginning, is an Editor for IEC61850, and has written a number of papers on Automating the Utility.
Prior to founding KCA and UCAIug, Kay worked for seven years with KEMA Consulting (formerly ECC) as a Principal Consultant. Four years with ESCA, as a Project and Account Manager, and twenty-five years with Carolina Power and Light Co. as Principal Engineer responsible for Distribution Research.
Plenary, IEC61850 UCAIug Enters 2nd Decade |  Ms. Goodrich is actively involved in the IEC WG14, WG16 and WG19 teams and she is Vice-Chair of the IEEE-PES CIM TF. Under contract to EPRI and the UCA, Ms. Goodrich provides her services as Test Director for the industry interoperability testing and the coordination of the findings with the industry and standards organizations. Ms. Goodrich served in an advisory capacity on the NERC DEWG committee and worked with the EPRI CCAPI organization and the IEC to establish industry standards surrounding software, integration and data exchange. She served on the IEC WG13 TF for 2 years and as Co-Chair of the Utility Task Force of the Object Management Group (OMG), Ms. Goodrich was instrumental in the acceptance of the DAF and DAIS standards. Ms. Goodrich has consulted on CIM subject matter expertise, project management and strategic consulting to several clients including EPRI, Cleco, COES-SINAC (in Peru), ERCOT, KCPL and other power utilities. In Feb, 2001, she was awarded a patent for the Operational Database Maintenance System (ODMS) product that was developed during her tenure with PsyCor International, Inc. CIM, Testing, CIM University | Ralph Mackiewicz is Vice President of SISCO a Sterling Heights, Michigan developer of standards based real-time communications and integration products for electric utilities. Ralph obtained a BSEE from Michigan Technological University in 1977 and worked at Westinghouse Electric's PLC division as engineering manager prior to joining SISCO in 1985. Ralph has been an active participant in MMS, UCA and ICCP-TASE.2 standards activities. Ralph has 2 patents, has authored chapters on PLCs and MMS for several well-respected industry handbooks; has authored and presented papers on IEC 61850, CIM, and ICCP-TASE.2 at technical conferences sponsored by IEEE, ISA, EPRI, Pennwell, and UCAIug; and has conducted training programs on these topics for many of his customers around the world. IEC61850 Boot Camp IEC 61850 Tutorial |  Terry Saxton is Vice President and a founder of Xtensible Solutions, a company offering professional consulting services to the international utility industry in the development of Enterprise Information Management (EIM) strategies and system integration frameworks based on the Common Information Model (CIM) and related standards. Mr. Saxton is Convener of IEC TC57 WG13 responsible for the CIM and other international standards for energy management system interfaces and co-Chair of the CIM Users Group. He manages projects for EPRI dealing with the CIM, most recently extending the CIM to support dynamic model exchange and harmonization of the CIM and IEC 61850 standards. Mr. Saxton has many years of experience in the analysis, design, development, and implementation of a wide range of system integration solutions for electric utilities and the US Department of Defense. Prior to starting Xtensible Solutions, Mr. Saxton worked for BearingPoint, KEMA Consulting, Siemens Power Systems Control, Honeywell, Information Exchange Systems, and Bell Telephone Laboratories. He received an MSEE from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA, and BSEE and BS Math with Honors from California State Polytechnic University.
